AFP: US conservatives blast public radio in Muslim comment flap

This guy, Juan Williams, got fired for doing something his boss felt violated the code of conduct established at his workplace. Not saying that's right, but that's what happens at any workplace. To shut down NPR entirely because of one judgement based on a conduct code? Sounds extremist to me.

So, NPR has chosen to be extremely politically correct in their slant on broadcasting (which befits a publicly-funded outlet). I don't like any slants on new info, but this one is a moderate slant. However, FOX has slanted their newscasts so far to the right that I can't tell fact from fiction anymore on the network. Case in point:

"While Republicans closed ranks around Williams, who quickly signed a Fox News Channel contract reportedly worth two million dollars over three years..."

Would dude be getting this offer if they didn't think he was going to continue broadcasting anti-Muslim sentiments disguised as news?

Oh yes, please! Put my taxes toward serving the bigotry, hatred, and stupidity of these so-called "White House contenders" instead. I strongly support the first amendment, but there is a difference between free speech and inflammatory speech. A government outlet should do its best to keep from offending any of its constituents.

Seriously people, this is why you shouldn't vote these morons into any position that involves decision-making. They are out for themselves, and if you aren't exactly like them, you will be branded a "threat". They are conformists at the highest level. (As in everyone should conform to what they want).

Our country needs to get over this revenge and retribution mindset and get back to the basics: capitalism. Apparently we forgot how to dominate the world market in that arena. How about focusing on that instead of who's building what where and this dude now making $2 mil in 3 years when he was probably making about $90 thousand or less in 3 years before? Sounds like he got the better end of the deal anyway to me.
